Course Description:
Fresia Studios provides painting workshops within walking distance from Albergo Lenno. The method used is the precise method handed down rom teacher to student that begins with Monet and Sargent and passes on through such artists as Henri, Hawthorne, and Brackman. In addition to "how to" techniques, emphasis is placed upon the philosophy that encourages each student to discover his/her vision and to make art as opposed to pictures. The firm foundation helps the student to move forward once the workshop has concluded.

Structured classes require the student to break the painting process down into stages that enable one to see and understand line, tone and color. Students work only from life with a good deal of the painting taking place "en plein-air" on the lake's shore or within the ancient and romantic village of Lenno. Classes are open to artists with any level of painting experience.


Instructor:
Jerry Fresia PhD is an American writer and painter who has taught art for over 20 years, first at the William Schultz School of Art in Lenox, MA, and later at his studio in San Francisco.
